Our 13th Annual Concerto Competition took place on February 24, 25, and 26, 2023, at the Faust Harrison Piano Studio in Fairfield, CT.

                  Our 2023 Winners, Judges and Competition Chairperson

Willa Brasch, a violinist, is a Junior at Farmington  High School.  She is a student of Teri Einfeldt at the Hartt School, has received honors in the Connecticut Musi Educator's Association State, CT-ASTA, Musical Club of Hartford and the Deborah Kahan Competitions.  She is concertmaster of the Connecticut Youth Symphony and is an avid lover of chamber music.  She plays in two chamber ensembles at the Hartt School and is looking forward to a third summer filled with chamber music at Green Mountain Chamber Festival.    Willa is an avid supporter for the JDRF.  Beginning in 2020, she has held an annual benefit recital, initially online, and in person for the first time in 2022.  She raised $11,000 in 2022 and over $92,000 since she began raising funds.   She will be performing the 1st movement of the Korngold Violin Concerto, Op. 35.

Madison Michelle Chueka, a flautist, is a Senior at Pierrepont School in Westport and a student of Adrianne Greenbaum.  She will be performing Francois Borne's Flute Fantasies Brillante from Carmen. Madison has many accomplishments: a winner at the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity first district high school talent competition 2022; a winner of the Amega Psi Phi fraternity, Alpha Nu chapter high school talent competition 2022; a winner at the CGTYO Concerto Competition 2022; Honorable Mention of the 2nd annnual GS of teen talent contest 2022; Honorable Mention of the 1st annual GSO teen talent contest 2021; a finalist at GCTYO Concerto Competition 2021, the Winner of Suzuki Music School of Westport Concerto Competition 2020; the Winner of the 11th annual American Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition 2020 and GCTYO Concerto Competition 2020.   She is the Principal Flute of the Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestras.

Avery Cotton, a pianist, is a Junior at New Canaan High School and a student of Svitlana Fiorito.  He bagan piano studies at the age of six.  Avery was the alternate Winner of the Music Teachers National Association Piano Competition representing Connecticut.  He has been a past winner of the Renee B. Fisher Competition, Audrey Thayer PianoCompetition, Deborah Kahan Competition and Suzanne Culley Competition.  He has also been a participant in many other classical music events in Connecticut.  He has also studied saxophone and flute.  He will be performing the 1st movement of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2.
